Racing is a constant learning experience. If you are resting on last season’s accomplishments, the competition will soon be passing you by. The “Stinger,” Brandon Arthur, had an excellent Pro Lite rookie season in 2014. Despite a lack of experience on many of the tracks, he was consistently fast and took his first Pro Lite victory in round 10 at Glen Helen. For 2015, he took all the knowledge he gained last season and built a beautiful new Competitive Metals / Rigid Industries / Pro Traffic Services Pro Lite Chevrolet for 2015. The FiberwerX bodied Chevy Silverado and Bink designed graphics look great on the outside but it’s the bones and the best components from Toyo Tires, HRT Motorsports, Method Race Wheels, Magnaflow, Aeromotive Fuel Systems, F&L Racing Fuels, Impact, FOX shocks, Heat Shield Products, Maxima Racing Oils, Summers Brothers, Wirefab and ECP Powder Coating that provide the sting to the competition.

In the truck’s debut during rounds one and two of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, California, it showed some of the speed it’s capable of. “We qualified 3rd in our group during Friday’s session,” said Brandon, “During the first race, I got spun out on lap one and had to work my way back up through the pack. At the checkers, I was running 5th.”

Round one showed the potential the new truck possessed. Brandon only needed a clean run to unleash it. During qualifying on Saturday, he got his chance. He laid down a blistering 50.475 second lap to qualify number one. “Our Toyo Tires hooked up and we pulled a number 2 for the starting order inversion, so I got to start on the second row,” said Brandon, “We were running a solid race in the lead pack when I got spun out again on lap 10.” With only 4 laps to go, Brandon was mired in the back and finished in 11th place.

“The weekend was not exactly what we hoped for,” said Brandon, “The new truck is fast; we just need to work on a couple things to keep us up in the top group.” Brandon’s results put him solidly in the top ten in the points standings. With a fast truck under him, he will have a chance to put more points on the board when the series resumes at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, AZ April 24th and 25th.
