Bink Designs owner Brian Binkert incorporates his creative energy and his passion for all things automotive into every project he takes on. As a child he spent time with his father, a former drag racer, at numerous car shows where they displayed the family’s classic 1955 Ford Thunderbird. Brian quickly gained an appreciation for design being surrounded by such fine examples of motorized art. As he got a little older he got interested in off-road racing after spending many hours playing the video games inspired by Ivan Stewart. After venturing out to watch several events first-hand, he was hooked on the excitement of racing and the majestic beauty of the desert.
Shortly after graduating from Platt College, an art school in San Diego, CA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts, he launched Bink Designs. His areas of study included graphic design, website design and filmmaking. Interestingly, while at a race, he borrowed a still camera from a friend and discovered he excelled at shooting photos as well. Brian has won the Dirt Sports Magazine, photo of the year five times, in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 and was nominated for SCORE Photographer of the year in 2011 & 2012.
Brian’s ability to manage a project from a mere concept to a functional reality can be seen in his portfolio of collateral design, logos, websites, vehicle graphics, apparel as well as the vehicles he has built. The Ford Ranger prerunner he built as a teenager is currently used to prerun the toughest terrain in the western US and Baja Mexico. Another vehicle he owns is a custom Ford F-150 show vehicle that has been displayed at 90 events in 2011-2013 alone. It is used to promote the products of several off-road manufacturers and has been featured in national magazines such as Dirt Sports & Off-Road.
